Bati
Tonle Bati is a beautiful and a picturesque lake adorning
Takeo, which is around 30km from Phnom Penh. It happens to a very popular day
trip destination and a picnic spot amongst the locals.
What can you find there?
Ø This little lake is a paradise for many. One can watch and absorb
nature in it’s purest form
Ø Local people are also seen fishing here
Ø Locals spend their weekend with friends and family at this
lovely locale, which also happens to be a favourite picnic spot.
Ø The remains of the bomb used in the 11th century
by Pol Pot during the Khmer reign still reminisce one of the horrific days.
Ø There is an array of shacks selling local delicacies and
snacks like snails, roasted rats and many more.
How to get to Tonle
Bati
Buses travelling to Takeo will drop by at Tonle Bati.
Private cars or cabs can be booked to commute to Tonle Bati.

Ø Ta Prohm of Bati, which is very close to Tonle
Bati house the very famous Jayaprabuddhamanthana statues of Buddha, which were
given shelter at this place by the Cambodian and Thai authorities during the
reign of Jayavaranam VII.
Ø 20 minutes from Tonle Bati is also another
historic temple, the Phnom Chisor which is situated on the tip of the mountain and
one has to scale 45o steps before reaching the place of worship.
Ø Beware of the children who might just horde you
to buy flowers and incense for prayer.
