Tuol
Sleng Genocide Museum which was an erstwhile High school was used for all the
barbaric activities during the Khmer Rouge reign and was often termed as
Security Prison 21 or S-21. Very unfortunately the school site was converted in
to an execution centre out of the 150 execution centres around Cambodia. Close
to 20,000 Cambodian prisoners were barbarically killed between 1975 to 1979.

Genocide Museum will only fill one with remorse and sorrowful seeing the
history of S-21
Ø Every class
room has been converted into a cell with barbed wires and windows almost sealed
with iron bars. Every room has a story to narrate of the pitiful conditions the
prisoners were dragged to death
Ø One would get a
first-hand information on how the Khmer Rouge killed almost one third of the
Cambodian population in as little as four year of their reign.

Ø Till around
September 2011, there were three survivors of the S-21 prison, who were put on
mercy because of their skills used by the Khmer government.
Ø A Vietnamese
combat photographer in 1979 was the
first person to discover and reveal the horrific and dreadful events held in
S21.

days in a week from 8.00am to 5.00pm
